The cases will have either 1200cc or 1400cc cast into it by the oil fill hole. Regarding the oil mod - check your crankcases to see if they are later 1400CC cases - Suzuki modified the cases in '74 to correct the starvation issue for 4th and 5th gear. You can put together the equipment you need for a pressure test for about $20 and I describe what you need and how to do the test here: Test the compression - the bike will run on 100PSI per cylinder with a +/- difference of 5PSI between the cylinders but you really should see 120PSI to 140PSI with everything working as it should.Ī good test of the crank seals is to do a pressure test and see if each side will hold 6PSI for 6 minutes.
